Day Of Caring
Stateline United Way sponsors an Annual Day of Caring, traditionally either the 3rd or 4th Wednesday in September. We gather teams of volunteers from area businesses, most of whom are allowed to volunteer on company time, to help out a local not-for-profit for the day. Recent years have seen more than 200 volunteers doing jobs like painting, yard work, stuffing letters for mailings, constructing shelves or storage sheds, cooking a meal for the needy, or even installing playground equipment. Our annual fall fundraising Campaign Kickoff is planned to coincide with the Day of Caring. A breakfast is held with all the volunteers invited, as well as those who will be running the campaigns at their place of business.
Sponsoring
businesses cover the cost of the meal, as well as a tee shirt for each
volunteer.
Sign up forms will be e-mailed in July to businesses which run United
Way campaigns. They must be returned by Aug. 18.
